The Center was established with the following objectives:

• Advance theory and knowledge of supply chain management by conducting basic and applied research in supply chain management.
• Promote applications of supply chain management theory and technology through training and educational activities in the Pearl River Delta.
• Form a network of interested companies and enhance their competitiveness through applied research and consulting services.

Faculty members in the Center have conducted several SCM studies in Hong Kong and mainland China. These include relationship management, supply chain integrations, supply chain strategies and practices supply chain structure, the role of logistics service providers , and advanced strategies and tools for virtual supply chain management in Asia.
