The Li & Fung Institute of Supply Chain Management & Logistics was established within the Chinese University of Hong Kong with a substantial donation from the Li & Fung Group in the beginning of 2006. Both existing and newly established research centers related to supply chain management and logistics studies across business and engineering faculties are now coordinated under the Institute. The following figure shows the current organization structure of the Li & Fung Institute and the directors of the units.

The Center for Supply Chain Management and Logistics is established under the Faculty of Business Administration. It consists of two research Centers, a knowledge transfer office, and special project units. Research projects are hosted and conducted in the Cyber Logistics Research Center (CLRC, also known as Center of Cyber Logistics) and the Supply Chain Management Research Center (SCMRC). The CLRC focuses on logistics and related technologies while the SCMRC emphasizes the theory and practices of supply chain management. The Knowledge Transfer Office promotes exchanges between the research Centers and practitioners and disseminates knowledge to practitioners through open forums, education and training programme, and consultation services.
Established in 2005, the R&D Center for Supply Chain and Logistics Management is a joint center between the Faculty of Engineering, The Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Graduate School at Shenzhen, Tsinghua University. The mission of the center is to promote collaboration in supply chain and logistics management and internet technologies in the Pearl River Delta (PRD), to foster excellence in supply chain/logistics management technologies and practices, to provide showcases for application software and examples.
The Center for Logistics Technologies and Supply Chain Optimization (LOGITSCO) is a cross-disciplinary Center established by the Faculty of Engineering, in collaboration with Oracle, Sun Microsystems, and other industrial partners. The mission of the Center is to foster excellence in the development of knowledge and tools to facilitate commerce on the web, and more broadly, to support operational decisions and internet strategies in a knowledge-intensive and technology-based economy. The Center conducts basic and applied research in three broad areas of technology: Internet and information systems technologies, enterprise solution technologies, and emerging e-commerce-centric technologies. The Center has developed a cross-disciplinary Master of Science Programme in E-Commerce and Logistics Technologies. |
